IMPORTANT NOTICE

An Adult Historical Fiction Setting

COMMUNITY STANDARDS & PLAYER SAFETY

The Crownbreak Cove team is developing detailed community guidelines. The principles below describe the intended approach to player safety and shared storytelling; specific procedures will be published before roleplay begins.

Crownbreak Cove is intended as an adult Second Life historical dark maritime roleplaying environment. Its fictional world may portray violence, death, colonial conflict, slavery and captivity, exploitation, intolerance, religious tension, and the aftermath of such acts.

The existence of these themes in the fiction does not amount to endorsement, and historical suffering is not a license for harassment or non-consensual interaction between real people. Second Life's Terms of Service and Community Standards remain applicable.

BEYOND THE FICTION

Players, Consent & Consequences

Player Boundaries

Roleplay must respect the people behind the characters. Sensitive scenes require clear out-of-character boundaries and agreed procedures. No story rationale overrides a participant's real-world consent.

Captivity & Coercion

Captivity, trafficking, imprisonment, and exploitation may exist as story subjects. Such scenes require clear consent and player safeguards. The team is finalizing the specific procedures that will govern them.

Violence & Mortality

Danger carries consequences. Characters may be wounded or may die, potentially permanently, under clearly established rules. The team is finalizing how combat outcomes, lasting consequences, and permanent character death will be handled.

Period Atmosphere

Clothing, weapons, social roles, and mannerisms should broadly reflect the late seventeenth-century Age of Sail. The world is fictional and does not require rigid reenactment.

Original Characters

Characters need a plausible place in the setting. The world is primarily human; exceptionally rare maritime supernatural roles require specific staff approval if permitted.

Courtesy & Fair Play

Keep player knowledge distinct from character knowledge, avoid forcing outcomes on others, and treat shared stories as collaboration rather than competition.

Rules & Procedures in Preparation

The Crownbreak Cove team is finalizing its guidance on roleplay consent, out-of-character disputes, combat consequences, permanent death, and character boundaries. Detailed procedures will be published before these systems are introduced to players.
